Shared on Sun, 02/08/2009 - 22:56WOW! What a night. It was most definitely chaotic, but a ton of fun. We had at least 15 full rooms going and even with that it appears that some folks were not able to get into rooms tonight. The response to this event was simply overwhelming and I want to thank everyone who participated for their support and patience. At all points during the evening, I was fielding multiple FR's and messages on XBL requesting invites. I met a ton of new folks tonight and must say that it was a pleasure to game with everyone of of you that I saw tonight. I did not run into a single bad apple (unless you count Pearl, but we expect such behavior from her 
). Kudos to all of the 2old2play members who helped make this event happen and a huge THANK YOU to Trixie360 at XBL for helping us set this event up. Though we will not be able to host another XBL Community Playdate for a while (the folks at XBL need to let others get some of the spotlight too), we will most certainly be holding regular Community Mixers for 2old2play Members to get together and meet folks interested in learning more about our community.
Once I get a list of everyone who participated in the festivities tonight, I will draw two names at random and announce the winners of the Gears of War Comic Collection, so keep an eye on this blog in the next few days for updates. Also, if you are new to the 2old2play Community and got a chance to game with us tonight, let us know what you thought of the event.
Finally, I would like to apologize to anyone who wanted to participate and could not get into a room this evening. The response to this event was simply overwhelming and unfortunately, some folks got lost in the shuffle. This is bound to happen anytime that you get this many folks together to participate in a single, online event. But fear not, for we will have many more events similar to this in the future. And don't forget the 2009 Chi-LAN coming up this summer. We have some pretty cool plans in the works for this year's LAN, so be sure to start saving your pennies now and plan on joining us in the Windy City. You won't regret it!
Now I am off to get some much needed sleep. Thanks again to everyone who made this event possible. You are what makes 2old2play the best damn online community out there today, bar none. You Rock!
