So in the midst of "Snowmegeddon" 2011 (Actually part II if you count the crazy weather we had back in Jan/Feb) our power did not go down, but our internet and cable did. So what's a guy supposed to do when he cannot play Gears of War 3 or get online? Well, if that person is me, the answer is head down to the basement arcade and get in some time on my favorite game of all time, Robotron 2084. I haven't played this game in a while, so I was really stoked when I hit 2 million and had a ton of extra lives left. Then, about the time that I hit 3 million, my fiance came downstairs asking if we were going to go register at Bed Bath & Beyond today as we had planned. I told her I was on my way to my best score ever, to which she huffed and headed back upstairs. When she came back downstairs an hour later, I was just about to break 6 Million. Needless to say, she did not share my enthusiasm about my new high score and proceded to let me know just how she felt about me being down in the basement when we had china patterns and linens to check out. My offers to buy her lunch once I was done were met with a scowl. From that point on, my game started to suffer as I began to realize that I was firmly implanting myself in the doghouse. My game finished at just around 2 and half hours with a score of 6,292,675 (Beating my personal best score by a little over 2 million points). By this time, my girl was just about fed up and ready to head out without me. After a quick change of shirts, I jumped in the car and we took care of registering. In her defense, I did promise my fiance that we would head out today. I really didn't expect to have such a great game. She rocks and typically puts up with my crap and obsession with games. Sometimes I take it a bit too far and get myself in trouble. All is well in the household this evening, so apparently have been forgiven.

Halloween is coming tomorrow and with it the final interview in the 2old2play Pop Culture Series covering the new film Inkubus. As promised, we have saved the best for last. So keep an eye out tomorrow for my interview with Robert Englund and Kane Hodder (Freddy Kruger & Jason Voorhees).
