In Recovery Today

Well, after several weeks of burning the candle at both ends in preparation for the 2old2play XBL Community Playdate last night, I have succumbed to whatever ailment that my kindler, gentler half (my girlfriend) has been battling all week. I had to call in sick to my "real" job and have spent most of the day in bed, next to the dog, in and out of consciousness and pounding as much OJ and vitamins as I can get down my gullet. Gotta love sick days, especially when the New England weather has finally decided to warm up a bit and melt some of the many inches of snow that we have been pummeled with lately.

I am also recovering from one heck of a fun and chaotic night last night. I have never received so many PM's, FR's and emails in one 24-hour period in my life. Leading up to and during our event last night, I was scrambling to field incoming messages on both my personal Gamer Tag (AOW Waterborn) and the Community GT (Meet2old2play - which currently has 90 friends, not bad for being in existence less than a week). It was a blast to to set up and work with some many "old-timer" and new members from this site. We had a great cross-section of people join us last night. I am still getting reports in from many of the Room Leaders regarding how things went in their rooms. Everyone reported few issues, though doodirock did apparently get a little Timmie hate mail for some reason. Guess the Dawson's Creek Icon can be a bit of a flack magnet for some. Once I get a full list of everyone that participated in the CPD, I will be drawing two names at random. The names drawn will each win a full Series I Set of Gears of War Comics (note, the winners will have to wait until April for the last 3 issues to come out to claim their copies). So stay tuned to this blog for updates on this drawing and more events coming up.

We will not be able to host another official XBL Community Playdate for some time (have to let others grab some of the spotlight for a bit). However, I am working with several members to set up a regular series of gaming mixers (perhaps monthly). I am looking for members who are willing to serve as "Game Leaders" for these events. So if you are into any of the following game titles and want to lead up a division for the Community Mixers, please send me a PM and I will get you on the list.

• Left 4 Dead
• Guitar Hero/ Rock Band
