Preparing for the 2old2plaSy XBL Community Playdate

This has been one busy week. We threw our annual Chinese New Year Party last night and had more than 30 guests in our all too small home. It was crowded, but everyone had a blast and much good food and libations were consumed by all. Below are a couple of "before" pictures of the main spread - Hot Pot, two roasted ducks and short ribs.

After sleeping off all of the food and beer consumed from last night, my girlfriend (who was looking very nice last night) and I set to the task of cleaning up and getting ready for the Superbowl this evening. After our little soirée last night, we decided to chill at home alone and enjoy the game (and commercials) in relative solitude. Anyone who caught the game knows that it was quite the show and Springsteen did the half-time show proud for a change. The last couple of years the half-time show has really sucked, not much to talk about since "Nipple Gate". It was good to see Little Steven Van Zant back behind the guitar as well. As much as I loved him on the Sopranos in his role as Salvatore, he really belong on the stage next to Bruce. The banter that they shared at the end of the set was a bit dorky, but really reinforced how much time the whole E-street Band has been together. It was like watching a group of friend jam out in their garage - with full pyrotechnics and about 40,000 people in the driveway.

So now it is time to get ready and geared up for the 2old2play Xbox Live Community Playdate coming up next Sunday, February 8th. Many of the folks were are listed on the official event notice over at Xbox.com ( http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/calendar/playdate/2009/0208-2old2play.htm ) have already reported receiving numerous Friend Requests in anticipation of the event. I am working to flesh out the rooms and should have something posted by tomorrow. Below is the list of the 2old2play members who will be serving as the contact-point "Ambassadors" for this event. Below that is a list of additional folks who have expressed an interest in joining us and representing 2old2play. There is still time (and room) to get your name added to the list. So if you would like to be a part of this event, please PM with your gamer tag. The event runs from 8 - 11 pm (EST) so please be sure you can commit to being available for this window prior to signing up. This is going to be fun and hopefully just the first of many 2old2play events to come.
