Oxytocin Interview

For those of you who read my brief review of the Oxytocin CD Release Party that I attended at the Middlesex in Cambridge, MA last Monday, you know that I was completely blown away by the show and the music. I did not think it was possible to be more impressed by this group of musicians who also happen to all work for Harmonix. Well, as they did with their live show, the Oxytocin crew threw me a curveball in the form of more pleasant suprises when I met them in person at Kedaar Kumar's pad in Medford earlier this evening. Based on what I saw on stage (tight music and mad skills), I half expected to be met by an insular group of musicians with fully (over)developed opinions of just how good they really are. Instead, I was warmly greeted by some of the most down to earth people I have ever met. This group of coworkers is made up of people who obviously love music and enjoy each other's company. We sat around an outside table, drinking beers and talking at some length about their musical influences, personal backgrounds and the inspiration for the songs on their first, self-titled CD (which you can download for FREE at www.oxytocinmusic.com - go check it out NOW). I want to thank the members of Oxytocin for their time, hospitality and insight into their music. Keep an eye out for the audio interview, which I hope to have up on the 2old2play front page very soon. And if you live anywhere near Boston, come check them out at their next show, which is also FREE, scheduled for Thursday, June 25th at 9:00 pm at the Good Life Downstairs, 22 Kingston Street in Boston. You will not be disappointed.

The Oxytocin Crew (clockwise from front-center): Ligeri, Inner Dialogue, Nay, Rob Lynch, DJ Random, M_Cue, Chili, 'Leb & Kedaar

Hey budman, no you are thinking of Jonathan Holmes who works with Destructoid. My girl made a similar comment about the resemblance. BigOne, they were all crammed into a bathroom in Kedaar's place, so who knows what went where. They are certainly a tight knit crew. Working on the interview right now and hope to have it sent to DSmooth in a few hours. Great content, just need to cut it down a bit. After the Funspot piece, I got a lot of backlash about the length. Guess no on wants to listed to a four hour interview - Who knew? :?
