Shared on Thu, 05/14/2009 - 18:10I just received my June copy of Game Informer in the mail today and was somewhat underwhelmed (the main stories are on Modern Warfare 2 and DJ Hero) until I saw this.

I have always been a huge fan of the Odworld Series, particularly the final installment from the Original Xbox - Stranger's Wrath. I love the characters and the world that the Oddworld Inhabitants Team created and really dug the sense of humor that was infused into each game. I must have missed what little hype surrounded the development of The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot (which was originally schedule for release in 2005) because I had never heard of this game until today. After reading the article in the new GI, I really wish that this game had seen the light of day. One of my favorite tidbits from the piece:
Fangus would control a flock of ravenouse sheep-like creatures to take down enemies and solve puzzles.
As someone who has seen and loved the movie Black Sheep (NOT the one with Chris Farley), this idea sounds utterly wonderful and sick at the same time. Given the Oddworld twist, I can only imagine how fun it would have been to sick your ravenous herd on some unsuspecting foes.
Here are some more conceptual drawings from the GI story.

For those of you who have never seen the movie Black Sheep, here is a trailer - enjoy.
