I spent my "day off" working at my vintage video game shop (located inside Comically Speaking in Reading, MA - www.comicallyspeaking.com). Since I have been in the shop last, we have gotten in a ton of cool stuff, including lots of boxed Sega Genesis goodies and a complete boxed NEO GEO Gold Edition home console, which of course I snagged for my collection. The NEO GEO was one of the last major home consoles that I did not already have in my collection.

Behold the NEO GEO Goodness

Samurai Showdown II Title Screen

Samurai Showdown II Battle Screen

Here is a video that I took of playing Samurai Showdown II, quite poorly I must admit. This game is very similar to Street Fighter with regard to the play mechanics. As you can see, the graphics for the NEO GEO are quite nice and full.

On the Road to Robotron Dreams

As I wait for the monitor witdth capacitor kit and width coil to arrive for my Robotron coin-op cab, I have been working on the joysticks a bit. Some cleaning and minor tweaks and they are now working beautifully. Even with the screen width issues, I was able to post my second highest score of 514,750 today. Check out the video of the game below and notice the issues with the far right and left of the screen. This obviously makes playing more challenging as you cannot see what is in those areas or what might be coming at your from them. Once I get this monitor issue fixed, I am confident that I will pass the 1 million mark very quickly. I am posting scores around 500,000 regularly at this point.

Dude I'm coming over to play some Samurai Showdown. I rocked that game when it was out. It's too bad those games cost like 100-200 dollars a piece when they came out. What did it cost you?

Rau, currently Samurai Showdown II books for about $50. Seeing that I work at the shop, let's just say I got a deal :) Budman, if you need a new power suppl for your Genesis, let me know. We have several in stock.
