Let the Flea Market Hunts Begin!

On the Hunt for Vintage Video Game Goodness

Well, warm weather has FINALLY come to New England and that means that the Flea Market Circuit is beginning to open up again. I took the trek up to NH for the first time this seaon to see if I could find any good gaming stuff among the aisles. I have noticed that many of the flea market vendors are beginning to ask more for their old video games and most of the markets in our area now have dedicated video game vendors who are there week after week. This development is a bit of a mixed blessing as it is getting harder to find sweet deals and rare gems, but it also means that the pool of available items is increasing.

Well today I found a few items of interest, though nothing out of this world.

NEC Turbo Graphx Console

This was one of the few missing consoles in my collection. I have been searching for one in good condition at a reasonable price for some time now. Most of the TGFX consoles that I have seen go up for sale since I began collecting vintage systems about two years ago are priced at around $70. I picked up this one, with one game (Neutopia) for $50 after a little haggling with the kid running the booth where I bought it. Not a great deal, but worth it to add another system to my collection. Now if I can just find a 3DO at a reasonable price.

I was also able to pick up the following games for about $3 each. Once again, not a great buy, but not bad either.
