Shared on Thu, 12/03/2009 - 18:23As I mentioned in an earlier blog, the Video Game Orchestra will be performing once again at the Berklee Center for the Performing Arts here in Boston this Saturday, December 5th at 7:00 pm. With special guest conductor Watoru Hokoyama, composer of AFRIKA and Resident Evil 5, this show promises to be exceptional. I had the opportunity to sit down with Shota Nakama, Creative Director of the Video Game Orchestra, earlier this week to discuss the upcoming show, what new music we might hear during this newest performance and what is on the horizon for the VGO.
Interview with Shota Nakama of the Video Game Orchestra
I apologize for the heavy din in the background during this interview. I met with Shota over lunch at a restaurant in Kenmore Square this week and the ambient nose was a bit much. I did my best buffer this interferance and pick up our voices as best as I could. Hopefully, this will not significantly distract from your enjoyment of this interview.
Stay tuned for the ucpoming release of my interview with Gerard K. Marino, composer for the God of War series and movies such as Midnight Meat Train, which was recorded last spring after the VGO concert in which he was a guest composer. After waiting for some time to release this interview in hopes of doing so near the release of God of War 3, I have decided to go ahead and put it out there. Gerard has done some amazing work, both within the video game industry and as part of the entertainment industry as a whole. I am very happy with this interview and look forward to sharing it with you.
