Shared on Thu, 11/19/2009 - 10:09I was thinking this morning about how gaming has taken over my life. From collecting classic home consoles to repairing coin-op machines to working with 2old2play and other outside partners setting up events to Twitter et cetera, et cetera. I realized that I spend far more time talking about, twittering about and listening to podcasts about games than I actually do playing them. With the vast array of media resources and new products that we currently have in the video game industry, it seems that the trappings of being an active member of several online communities have made me forget why I love gaming and got so deep into 2old2play and these other aspects of the industry.
Long and short of it - I miss playing games with my friends.
So in addition to trying to get my personal life back on track (working out, spending time with family & friends, etc), I am going to recommit myself to playing more games, particularly online games with my friends, and spending a little less time posting and talking and listening and everything else about games. I still plan to be active on the forums and work on my coin-op machines. However, if I have a choice between playing a game and talking about it, I am going to work to focus on the former.
So I hope to see some of you online soon. Now if I can just figure out how to squeeze $60 out of my insanely tight budget for MW2. Anyone want to make a donation?
