Get Your Ass to Awesome Town!

Where is Awesome Town you ask? Chicago! The LAN is coming up in August and you need to make your way there, whether you are a repeat attender or a newb, you will not want to miss the shenanigans that go on at the LAN.

Here a few highights from my trip to Awesome Town in 2007 (I missed the 2008 LAN - something that will NEVER happen again).

• Taking the bus with Phreak and Co. to go check out Wizard World (which is once again scheduled for the same weekend as the LAN). During that little side excursion I got my first look at the game called Bioshock, took some pictures of some very nice booth babes/Cosplay Lasses and got the opportunity to exert my powers of persuasion on the hotel management who refused to sent the bus back to pick us up. Needless to say, we got our ride.

• I met 2old2play illuminaries like Mike James (aka BDB - Big Drunken Bastard), doodirock, phreak, TDrag and of course the infamous Infection (don't ask how he got his name, it involves drunken debauchery, the police, a hefty dose of antibiotics and a involuntary trip to the CDC)
•  
• I saw Drunken Wii Boxing for the first time (not a pretty sight I must tell you)
•  
• I shared Chinese Take Out with Em at 1 am and then again at 10 am with the Chicago PD (Word to the wise, don't order the head-on shrimp)
•  
• I saw the BBD (Big Black Dildo) for the first time. Some things cannot be unseen, close your eyes and spare yourself the nightmares.
•  
• I met 100+ of the coolest people on the web and made some friends for life (though some of them refuse to return my calls)

So buy your ticket and make your hotel reservations NOW. Tight on cash? No problem. Bunk up with one (or six) of your closest friends to save on hotel costs, carpool or hitch hike to cut travel expenses and start selling plasma today (you can do this every two weeks and should get about $50 - $100 a trip. It's an option). Hell, if you live anywhere between Boston and Chicago I will even give you a ride to the party provided you buy road snacks and watch out for various state patrollers.

NO EXCUSES! - Make the trek to Awesome Town, you will not regret it.
