It's that time again! Christmas eve is at my house every year for the extended family. In just a few hours there will be 25+ people at my house for a seven fishes diner. The butterfly shrimp, shrip cocktail and salmon are done. Right now we're working on the squid and lobster. Then all that's left is the crab and scallops. Oh, and the anchovies...there just for pap Norm. nobody else really eats them.
We started the cooking with the traditional shot, and i just cracked my third Labatt Blue.
My mother-in-law, her husband, brother-in-law, the wife, and i are doing the bulk of the work as usual. Lot's of work is made enjoyable by light attitude and christmas spirit...and some wines and spirits of course.
My kids just walked through the door from a seeing Avatar and the eyes will roll as i give them each a list of things to do. My daughter is 13 with an attitude that just won't quit. My son on the other hand thinks this is the best part of christmas and helps with everything he possibly can.
Oh, time to deep fry some squid.
