Vacation To Dead Island

I close my eyes, and I am transported to a lush, tropical paradise... palm trees swaying in a gentle salty ocean breeze, the brush of her hula skirt as she dances in the glow of sunset, the splattering of blood as a freshly decapitated zombie crashes to the ground... I can't stop imagining how awesome Dead Island is going to be. I'll pick it up Tuesday on the way home from work - that is, unless I get sick.  ;)  I can't take off, don't need anything fucking up my vacation. Waiting two weeks for this vacation feels like being boarded up in the house, trying to fight off a zombie horde while awaiting reinforcements.

What good is there in having Mondays off if I can't enjoy the Monday holidays (Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.)? I'm stuck working 1st shift on Labor Day - FUCK! I'll get Wednesday off instead of Monday, but that still fucks everything up! Now my whole Sunday off is getting ready for work... grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning. Wednesday won't be much of a day off either, preparing to be at work early on Thursday for a skip level meeting with the department Director. My department recently scored low in some employee satisfaction survey, so they set up skip level meetings to find out why people are so pissed off. I'm not one to enter the battlefield unprepared or charge in with guns blazing, so I'll spend the better part of my day off preparing (& writing down) all my thoughts.
