My New House

The view directly ahead from the front door. Know what I love about those blinds in the double doors? THEY ARE BETWEEN PANES OF GLASS.

As you can see we are laying hardwood floors. Real ones. Those grey things in the lower right corner are nail guns that are made to be used with this flooring. So it's real hardwood, oak actually, tongue and groove.


Now if you turn to the right from the front door this is what you see. We still have to lay floor for the entire kitchen. But no, we are not using that toilet bowl for our kitchen seating. It needs to be put in the bathroom a few feet away from it which is not quite finished (at least the bathroom upstairs is). On the far right of the photo you can just see the stairs going up to our bedroom...but I'll get to that soon.


Here is a slightly different view of the kitchen/dining room taken from more into the living room.


This is what is around the corner at the end of the kitchen, right by that toilet in the middle of the floor. It's going to be the home office/guest bedroom. One small part of the bed going in here is already here. And here the floor is done.


The entire upstairs is our bedroom. It's hard to tell, but we'll be putting out king size mattress in here. Michelle's mother has also given us a four poster black wrought iron bedframe. Thats Michelle's hand in the shot, she took this picture from halfway down the second set of steps leading up to here.


Still standing in the same place she did before, just slightly turned to the right. There's our bedframe as well as the rest of the pieces for the bed downstairs. The right hand door is to the upstairs bathroom and the left hand one is to a closet.

And there you have it. I'll post the after pictures once we're moved in and the place is looking nicer. We should be moved in before the end of next week.
