Mini Update

So despite the fact I got some great help from the ARXV guys and I did get the TV to speed up some, I still opted to return the television and try to replace it with a television that at least had the game mode option.

So I pack up the box, put it in the car, drive the hour to the nearest Best Buy...

only to find out I didn't put the power cable in the box. They wouldn't take it back.

To add insult to injury - they also don't carry replacement power cables for the electronic devices they sell.  Really?

So I went to look at the television I was going to replace it with, hoping they used the same power cable, and they unfortunately do not.

What's worse is, it's just one of those old stereo power cables, it wasn't anything special... Similar to this:

But they didn't even seem to have one of those.  So we had to drive the hour back home failing our mission.  Unfortunately with the exception of Wal-Mart which probably isn't any better they're the most convenient electronic store to me.  And with the problems I have with electronics (just read through the blogs) I'm not about to mail order!

Fortunately though we're heading to another city that has a best buy tomorrow so we're not wasting additional gas/energy attempting to exchange it a second time.

I'd say I'm almost to the point it's not worth the trouble anymore, but I've already said that a good 20 times.  I don't think I'll stop until I've exhausted all of my options.  Sometimes I like a challenge.

Another update tomorrow after I've been back to Best Buy and hopefully have played a game or two on a new television.
