True friendship

I recently encountered a situation that forced me to reach out and ask for help. If you are reading this and do not know me, you'll probably say to yourself: "So?"

If you know me, you might realize that I despise asking for help. I will help any of my friends. However, I do everything possible to not ask for help. I don't know why, nor do I really want to analyze why now. Life has a tendency to put us in situations we do not like; and for those of us that are believers, God has a tendency to remind us that we need each other and not to be too prideful. As I said, I needed help. I have long known that the people I interact with through this site do not meet the traditional definition of "friend". I have also known that they ARE friends. That friendship does not require face-to-face interaction. However, I did not realize the strength and depth of the friendships I have developed through this site. Until this week. I asked a couple of my friends here for help and they jumped to help. They didn't even let me finish explaining the situation. I contacted a friend of mine that I have known since I was 8 years old. He was unwilling to help. That fact in and of itself, made me realize how true and deep our friendships here are.

If you have the privilege of having these guys on your friends list, cherish them. If you have people on your friends list that are like these guys, cherish them. If you haven't realized the caliber of people you have on your friends list, or think of them as just gaming buddies...you might want to reconsider.

OneBadDaddy, TenguStorm and RedApple:

You guys will be in my heart and soul forever. You truly are gentlemen, and true friends. If there is anything I can do for you, ever, please do not hesitate to ask. We all need someone's help sometime.
