Need books....

What about super hero-ish? I just finished "In Hero Years... I'm Dead" by Michael Stackpole. A hero returns to his ciry after 20 years of being away to find things different. Basically the hero vs. villain thing is run more like a sporting event , or wrestling mixed in with some fantasy sport league and odds. It's $5 for kindle I think, or $6 to get an extra section where the author talks about how the story came to be. Other books: "Daemon" and sequal "Freedom TM" (computer worm taking over the world - seems far-fetched, but all the tech jargon and capabilities are real). The "Dexter" series. I've read the first two, and they are different enough from the show to make them interesting. The method the main villain uses in the second book is *shudder*. It'll give you nightmares thinking of it! :o) I like Sci Fi too, but for some reason I cannot think of anything to recommend here... I think it's been a while since I read one :(

If you haven' t read them already, I'm in the middle of Steven King's "Dark Tower" series and it's stellar.

Enjoy orlando, should be nice here. It's looking pretty warm around mid 70s for a high with no humidity and clear skies. Lows will get down to low 50s but that's probably t-shirt weather for you! Dexter series is good, I've read them all and liked them. I'm reading the Alex Cross series by James Patterson right now. I heard they were really good, and decided to give it a try. I know they were movies, but I started with Along Came A Spider which I haven't seen in years, so I forget what the details were. Half way thru, so far so good!

The Hunger Games = TEH Awesome!! If you haven't read it, I can pretty much guarantee some mad love for that book.

Gears of War series ?

I would suggest a series by an author called Ansen Dibell. She wrote 5 books starting with a book called Ashay Rey and four others, I don't know the exact US-titles but I do know that one other book in the series was titled Circle, crescent, star. It mixes high adventure/fantasy with sci-fi. Basically the series revolves around a guy who's a writer for merchants and so on, who has an undying love for a female warrior. But then, Ashay Rey turns his world upside down. I don't know if the series is downloable though. I'm still a fan of paper books.

Robert Crais just released another Elvis Cole/Joe Pike mystery/detective novel. It's a pretty good series if you like the modern hardboiled detective genre

Try "The Entire and the Rose" 4 book series. 1st one had popped up as a free download for my Kindle. I normally read different sci-fi but it sort of grew on me. Have you ever checked out the David Weber series "Honor Harrington"? Starts out as a midshipman in an iinterstellar empire and rises to Admiral over a long series of books. I've read the entire series at least three times.
