TOTALL STOKED

AC/DC, my absolute favorite band is going on tour again and they're going to be here in Oakland on Dec 2nd!

A little back story:

Hells Bells was the first album I ever bought (tape actually) back when all I had to listen to music on was a small casette player with piano key style buttons, a pop up top loading casette loader and a mono speaker. I was somewhere between 8 and 10 years old probably. Quiet Riot and Iron Maiden were also big and Michael Jackson fashion was all the rage and that stupid Thriller video.

I was too young to go to concerts (not that they toured much in Canada anyway). By the time I was really old enough, they had cut back touring a lot. I'd moved internationally and then to the USA. I don’t know why but I’ve never been able to see the band I’ve listened to for ~25 years live but I’ve got all their albums and a good number of their concert DVDs.

So you can imagine how happy I was in the 10 minutes it takes me to drive from the train station to home last night when in that 10 minutes they announced AC/DC was coming to the Bay Area. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I knew they were releasing their new album in October called Black Ice and was hoping that was going to mean a tour. I didn’t care where in the USA they were going to land, I would go to see them but I couldn’t believe when they said on the radio that AC/DC would be coming to Oakland !



So I’m totally going. Price is no object, don’t care how much it costs, my ass will be in that arena December 2nd. This is the concert I’ve been waiting 25 years to see! The radio station I listen to is giving away tickets every hour on Monday and at various times through all next week. I will be glued to the radio next week trying to win tickets but if I can’t, I’ll buy them when the ticket sales open.
