It's got all the bells and whistles including 10,000:1 contrast ration with dynamic irus which adjust the contrast dynamically. 2.5 ms refresh rate as well as 120hz rather than the typical 60hz found in most sets. It's true 1080p with 3 HDMI 3.1 ports, vga port, component etc... lots of options. Even has a USB port on the back for flash updates to upgrade the TV firmware.
Reviews are all excellent.
I want a BIG TV and projection is the way to go, it's the cheapest option per inch and floor space isn't that big of a deal for me. Here's my problem though, this TV was part of the 2007 lineup from Sony and it's discontinued now . They don't have a 60" screen in the 2008 lineup at all. Frys however has one on clearance for 1500 bucks which is half the MSRP rate although by the end of their lifecycle they were down around 2200. I found out from Frys that they come with the original box, manuals, remote etc and full manufacturer warranty. So the bulb would be covered for the first year and i'd probably get the 5 year sony extended warranty on it anyway, so the bulb isn't that much of an issue. I did check though, the bulb is around 200 bucks so that's reasonable i think and it lasts about 8000 hours or about 3 years for an average home user.
So i'm really thinking this is a great deal on an awesome TV.
