9:05 : doing an intro on the screen, video montage kind of with news headlines about Wii and DS

9?07 : Reggie on stage acting like a dork.

9:08 : Reggie things video games will become a staple of entertainment like TV and Movies. Video game industry up 50% this year so far in US. UK is up 42%. Japan up 114%.

9:09 : Growth is from an expanded market. 69% of all game industry growth comes from Nintendo product sales. Portable gameplay used to represent 1/3 of game system sales. Last year it climbed to half of all game system sales. Nintendo DS doubled it's share of all system sales. DS sales represent 1/4 of all system sales this year.

9:12 : Gamers 18-24 make up 21% of all game sales. Gamers over 25 are 1/3rd of all revenues. In just 1.5 years, gamers over age of 25 make up 25% of Nintendo sales and 18-24 age group has doubled for nintendo.

9:13 : System sales by gender, 80% are men, 20% women for industry in general. For Nintendo this year that is 33% for women and 67% for men.

9:14 : In Japan the expansion of over 25 gamers and women is even bigger than here in the US.

9?17 : DS has sold 40 million + so far. DS launched 33 weeks ago and is consistantly sold out. Wii is poised to be #1 world wide with current sales numbers very soon.

9:29 : Two of the gamers above on stage to demo a few games. Demoing Zelda on DS and showing off how the stylus will be used to make the experience better.

9:31 : Zenda has deep story line, lots of side quests. The game takes place on the bottom screen where you have the touch screen and the upper screen shows the area map. New audiences are enjoying the game in Japan as well as hard core Zelda fans.

9:33 : Metroid prime on Wii being demoed. Showing off how the WiiMote controls the character and switch visors etc. Controls are tuned for fighting and features lock on but you can also freely aim while locked onto a target's general area. Hyper mode amps up weapon damage but corrupts the character the longer hypermode is used.

9:35 : Reggie talking about online. Reggie says they already are online, talking about DS wifi and Wii's opera web browser and Mii trading.

9:37 : 230 million gameplay sessions so far on DS via WiFi.

9:38 : 5.6 million game downloads on Wii via VC. 112 games offered so far.

9:38 : WiiWare announced for developers to ease availability of software.

9:39 : CheckMeOut channel announced where you can submit your Mii's to be voted on by the public. Contests and promotions will be focused around this new channel.

9:40 Mario Strikers Charge will have online competition. Fifa and Madden 08 will also have online competition. Pokemon already onlnie in Japan.

9:41 : Dragons Quest coming for DS and will have online battles.

9:41 : Guitar Hero III will feature battle of bands online feature and wireless controller

9:42 : Mario Cart Wii will be released Q1 2008 with online racing in real-time. Includes online multiplayer battle mode. Will support 'many' racers.

9:43 : Custom Wii Wheel will make it's debut with Mario Kart for Wii . This should help make new players competitive online. Wheel will come packaged with mario kart.

9:44 : video montage of how so many different demographics are playing Wii such as using it in retirement homes and toddlers.

9:46 : Sonturo on stage. Nintendogs and BrainAge helping expand market and reach new games. Wii Sports going the same thing in the living room attracting non-gamers to play.

9:48 : New players showing new enthusiasm to gaming is who Nintnedo is trying to reach while still trying to keep veteran players on board. They want to destroy the barrier between veteran and novice gamers with their products.

9:52 : To break down the wall of seperation, Nintendo constantly challenges itself to bring new titles that appeal to both. Simple enough for biggers to play but plenty of depth and gameplay for veterans so we can all play together.

9:53 : More videos of new gamers talking about how the Wii has brought them together

9:55 : Brain Age 2 more popular in Japan than the original with it's new games and challenges. Will be available Aug 20 in US on DS.

9:55 : Super Mario Galazy for Wii shown on screen. Nintendo believes it sets a new standard for player interface. Nov 12th in the US.

9:57 : Picross for DS announced, you acn create your own and share then with friends or downloaad new ones

9:58 : MySims announced. fully customized characters and environments for Wii and DS

9:58 : UBI announced Rayman for Wii.

9:59 : Brain games have 15 million units sold so far. Flash Focus is a vision training game in Japan and coming to US.

10:00 : My Word Coach announced is spelling, jumbles and other vocab building exercises

10:01 : news footage on Wii Sports being talked about as a good motivator for exercise

10:03 : Wii Fit announced. It's a platform you stand on and do the exercises on screen, fully interactive. Pushups, leg kicks, soem yoga poses, hoola hooping, side bends, stepping, goal charts, balance games. Looks pretty sweet.

10:05 : Shigaru on stage with translator. People on stage to demo WiiFit.

10:06 : Showing a one legged stretch with 1 leg kick and arm raises. You try and maintain balance to strenghen your core while doing the stretch. Areobic exercise being demoed, step aerobics. Stepping on and off the platform in time with the icons on the screen. You watch the Mii's on screen and match their pace. Side stretch being demod with twisting and bending. Over 40 activities in the game.

10:10 Wii Balance Board being shown on stage. It can measure your weight, your balance and blanace shifts. It's wireless too so you can use it anywhere in the room. Software also does measurements called body checks. You put in your clothing type and such and it takes your body weight. It also measures your center of balance to correct posture. There are graphs that take note of all the body measurements for the past few months for multiple people. The system records your BMI, not your weight.

10:16 Reggie and Shigaru going head to head on Blance Board with the soccer head but goal blocking activity. The exercise involves a lot of side bends. Reggie wins.

10:18 Reggie doing closing.  Nintendo believes they are the leader in Interactive Entertainment.

It is sad to see the the DS is getting more online usage than the Wii.

Thanks Tank! This was my best live feed here at work.. the gamespot one crapped out and a couple of others were much slower than you in updating. At first glance it doesn't seem like there is a whole bunch to be excited about - but I'll watch the show I recorded at home before final judgement.

They had a much better showing last year. I hope some good games come to the Wii.

I think WiiFit is pretty sick and the return of 'light gun' based games is going to bring me back to Wii in the future. No talk of Civ for DS though. Maybe they're leaving that up to 3rd party to cover. BrainAge2 looks pretty good.
