black friday adventures

Even though I said I wasn't going to go out, I went anyway.  I didn't go into the craziness though like TRU opened at midnight and Best Buy giving out copons at like 3am for doorbusters.  I just hit staples, picked up a 1TB external hard drive for 70, a 21" monitor for 90 and a battery backup power strip for 20.  Then came back home and the wife and I went back out later to Target .   TUrns out Target was matching ads so we shopped for all the stuff we wanted from walmart and bestbuy and bought it all at target along with stuff from target we wanted that was on sale.  Made black firday so much nicer, didn't need to put on full combat gear or wait in hour long lines, it was very relaxing and peaceful.

I hit best buy later and i noticed they had plenty of doorbusters left like L4D2 and Dragon Age Origns for 39.99 each or something like that, plenty left.    I went there because i wanted them to price match the $129 for a Kodak digi cam from Target and you know what those doucebags told me?  Sorry sir we're not matching black friday ads.  So i told them well... Target is and I bought a bunch of your sales over there so this was your chance to make some back but you must be doing so well that you can afford to turn business away and left.

After a couple of beers at Hooters yesterday I was brave enough to check out HHGregg, Best Buy, and the mall. Only Best Buy seemed busy and it was more like a normal busy day than what I would have expected on Black Friday. I picked up L4D2 for $34.99 I believe but passed on Dragon Age as I would rather have the PC version of a RPG. Dragon Age was also $34.99 for the Xbox.

I was thinking about picking up dragon age but I think my plan now for RPGs is to wait for the re-release that gives you all the DLC as well. I did however pick up Fallout 3 GOTY, amazon had it for 40 bucks. Great deal considering it's 110 in content if you paid full price at release plus 10 bucks for the five add-ons each. As much as I love RPGs it jsut seems like the big ones always do a re-release down the road. Since they're single player only there's no harm in waiting.
