Aug/Sep Suck

So, August sucked. The first part of September sucked. It just did. Here's my personal "suck" list:

WORK

• Lost several deals at the last second - several where the candidate was offered a job and accepted and it still fell through for various weird reasons (mostly job candidates suddenly going crazy on us). Also, one candidate who was pleasant on the phone then emailed me later that same day and told me to go "f---" myself. Classy. I had some of my best contractors get laid off, and I made a placement for a guy who was down on his luck but couldn't charge a fee (that's also a positive - a 'feel good', but the suck part is making zero dollars)

PERSONAL (Basically 2 months of time, here)

• * Lost my perscription sunglasses to the bottom of the lake
• * Couldn't sell some tickets I bought - ate about $300 on that one
• * XBox 360 died - still running around in circles w/ Microsoft to get that repaired
• * Directv DVR started freaking out - have to reboot it almost everyday now. If I get it replaced, though, I'll lose my shows!
• * iPhone died - completely. I had to go replace that
• * eReader - my favorite book (Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy) wouldn't download no matter what I did
• * 2o4d - my Call of Duty clan, suddenly disbanded right after the LAN
• * Cigar Cutter - my 'nice' cigar cutter just spontaneously fell apart in my hands. Seriously!
• * Neighbor friend - my biking buddy came back from out of town and suddenly wasn't interested in hanging out. Just wanted her DVDs back (which was weird because she had two copies of them). Also, she owes me money and was supposed to figure it out and pay me back - never has (and I'm poor, folks!)
• * Girl I was dating - we stopped dating.
• * Friend of a year and a half had a melt down and decided she doesn't want to be friends anymore
• * Only a handful of people from OMM went to Chicago this year. And OMM has slowly withered and died for a variety of reasons. This used to be one of the greatest source of joys in my life, too.
• * Someone I thought was a friend continues to say the right things, but her actions show - Not a friend. I finally had to come to grips with that.
• * My apartment complex raised my rent

I think that's about it. Probably more, but oh well.
