Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Since when did downloading map packs ( for whatever game) stop working if you e.g. start a new profile & name on your box. Meaning you literally have to re-purchase the map packs you already own?

So obviously it's me, Ginger. I go under my gamer tag and can play any game, lets use gears of war as an example. I can play on any purchased map-pack add on. Okay so I exit out of that name and load up my new name Strngr wth cndy. Um.. it wants me to purchase the map packs. Why? They're already on my xbox. As memory serves this has never happend, didn't matter how many profiles you had or used, you could always use the add-ons. Is this new? If so, there goes the neighbor hood. Yet another way microsoft rips you off and then whines about how little money they make.

At 1200 points per map-pack for MW2, eff'n forget it. I'll just stick with Its Just Ginger.

Funny thing, when I try to play MW2 under strngr wth cndy, I can use the resurgence add-on but not the stimulus....This must be a part of one of the more recent updates.

For 800 MS Points you could just change your Gamertag.

So has anyone heard of when they are going to expand the friends list from 100 to whatever? I came here under a new profile to join another clan and be able to keep them separate. My friends list under my other GT is almost full and the people I have I don't want to delete.

Did you switch xboxes from the one you used to purchase the game maps on originally? If so, then only the gamertag used to buy them will have access. Here is how downloaded things work on the 360: - all profiles on the 360 that originally bought the DLC can access it - you can access the DLC that you download on another xbox if you are using the gamertag that originally bought One of the above two things have to be true for it to work. If you did get a new xbox, and want to transfer all the rights to your new 360, go here and follow the directions: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/licensemigration/

Has your xbox been sent in for repair or have you bought a new one since you bought your Gears map packs? If the answer is yes and you haven't done a license transfer to your new xbox, the stuff you paid points for will only work when you log into Live as the gamertag that purchased the content. In order to make that content work no matter what profile you're logged into, the DRM key needs to be changed to your new consoles ID. You do this by doing a license transfer of all your content via xbox.com and then you need to re-download it to your console so it has the new DRM info. Kez gave you the link above to the license transfer page so i won't duplicate his work.

What Tank said, or just go to your download history and redownload everything.

Oh my.. I feel like a blond im so confused. LOL No I didn't get the new box, my bf did. He recently purchased Gears 2 Game of the Year Edition. Downloading the all in one map pack under one of his gamertags. He decided to make a new GT ( same box) and when he tried to play gears 2. none of the new maps worked, it required a re-purchase of them.
