Moviefone.  Honestly, WTF?  Your Top 25 Movie Villains of all time kinda stinks.  Khan?  The Wicked Witch from Oz?  The Evil Queen from Snow White?

What's worse, is who you have as #1.

10.  Evil Queen from Snow White - Cartoon characters need not apply.

9.  Max Cady:  Cape Fear - Good choice, and his position is about right.

8.  Hans Gruber:  Die Hard - Another good choice, but I think I'd have him in the Top 5.

7.  Chigurgh:  No Country for Old Men - Another great choice, and someone I'd seriously consider for the Top 5.

6.  Goldfinger:  Goldfinger - Meh.  He's good, but not Top 10 material IMHO.

5.  The Joker:  Batman: The Dark Knight - Heath Ledger's Joker.  Too early to say at the moment, but with all the hype, it may not be a bad choice or position for this baddie.

4.  Hannibal Lector:  Silence of the Lambs - Holy shit.  WTF?  #4?  Puh-lease.  He's #1 in my book.

3.  The Wicked Witch:  Wizard of Oz - Nope.  Not Top 10 in my book.

2.  Darth Vader:  Star Wars - Spot on choice and position.

1.  Voldemort:  Harry Potter - Are you kidding me?  #1?  Meh

My Top 5

5.  The Joker - I'm going out on a limb with this one, but my gut tells me it's a good choice.

2.  Darth Vader

1.  Hannibal Lector

So many better Bond villains to choose. I'd pick Max Zorin (Christopher Walken) as my favorite. He was one crazy nutjob.

Your list is definitely spot-on, especially next to Moviefone's list. Hannibal Lecter is THE ultimate villain.

To me a movie villain is one that strikes fear in part because of his invincibility, sorta like Darth Vader and Predator.

+1 to MTK Great Top 5 Soup. I'd flip flop 3 and 4, though. Maybe even move Gruber to number 5.

I just read the Top 25 and have two big WTF's? Freddy and Mike Myers but no Jason? Agent Smith is only number 25? He'd be Top 15, maybe even Top 10 in my book.

Agreed on Voldemort. If I had to pick a Harry Potter villain, I would go with Severus Snape which makes sensc b/c he is already #3 on your list. I don't disagree with their inclusion of the Oz Witch and Snow White Queen. They creeped me out when I was younger.

I like fantasy character: Queen from Snow White was going to poison her step daughter and asked a guy to BRING HER HEART... Mind you I would have put Malificent form Sleeping Beauty: I mean Cmon: She basically said "Yes, she will grow up, be beautiful on both the inside and the outside, everyone will love her, then on her 16th birthday, at the peak of her youth: she will DIE." THAT is the definition of a BAMF.
