I shot competitive archery for quite a few years and while that shot looks impressive they don't show how many times he tried. I have split about eight arrows with another shot, not just nicked but full on stuck one inside another. If you look closely it's not an arrow but a hollow tube that he shoots his arrow into. Most competitive shooters could do that in a few tries.
