The Dark Knight

So, got to go see this last night.

I got to the Mall / Theater at 4:30. Checked things out, and at the time, there was no line. So I went and grabbed something to snack on and did a little window shopping and MILF admiring in the Mall.

Went back to the theater around 5:10, and there were 50 people in line already. Whoa. That was fast. Show doesn't start until 7:30pm. Guess I'll get in line to make sure Speedbmp and I get decent seats

This is just going to be general thoughts on the film and I'll keep it spoiler free.

"Dark" probably doesn't even begin to describe this movie. The movie really focuses on the moral choices of the characters. Batman, Joker, Dent, Gordon, Fox, etc... all are faced with decisions that test their moral compasses. Well, except the Joker. He doesn't have a moral compass.

Heath Ledger's performance is one word: Awesome. He is the Joker. You do not recognize him as "Heath Ledger playing the Joker". You just see The Joker. Psychotic doesn't even begin to describe him. In the words of Speedbmp "It makes me sad there won't be Ledger as the Joker anymore."

Ledger's performance isn't the only glowing one. All the other heavy hitters seem to give their roles their all. Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Aaron Eckhart all provide very good performances.

So, that's about all I'm going to say. I don't want to oversell the movie, but I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Go see it.

It's worth it. I'll be seeing it at least once more, if not twice.

Oh, and two quick things:

#1 - Watch for the Pencil Trick.

#2 - Stay past the credits.

'nuff said.

BTW, I think Bale personifies the Bruce Wayne / Batman character the best out of all of them. Just MHO.

Why did you say we should stay past the credits? I just watched the movie and it was awesome. But I did not see an extra clip at the end.

It's kinda nice for those guys behind the scenes though, people may actually see their name scroll up the screen...

I agree with SoupNazzi. I liked Michael Keaton as Batman. I thought Val Kilmer and George Clooney were good as Bruce Wayne, but Christian Bale gets both Batman and Bruce Wayne.

I don't want to say too much about it, but i will say that if you liked the direction the series took with Batman Begins, you will not be disappointed with this movie. Actually you'll probably be ecstatic.

I hate leaving a movie only to learn that I missed a clip after the credits, like "Ironman." Thanks for giving me the heads up. Looking forward to seeing this tomorrow.

A lot of movies these days are pulling the "stay past the credits" trick. I hate that shit because some of these movies, the credits are like 10 minutes long. And then the end-scene is 30 seconds long. (Yeah, I'm looking at you Pirates 3).
