Puke Train

Snuphy

Rode it. It sucked.

My wife got on board first, Sunday night a week ago. I played Mr. Mom last Mon/Tues. My eldest got on the train Tues night. I managed a strong day of work Wed, my only one for the week. Then I rode the train with authority Wed night. Peanuts hurt. My youngest offspring, Sat night. It’s turned into a family thing, a new bonding experience of sorts. Only my middle child is clinging to her vittles.

Note the reoccurring word “night” above. Why don’t people get sick during the day? In more than 8 years of fatherhood, I can remember a whopping two times a family affliction started while the sun was up. The dozens of others I can recall, including my own, non-alcohol related illnesses, all started in bed. Is there a logical biological reason for illnesses to bloom while a body sleeps? Or do the demons really frolic most nights a short time after I reach REM sleep?

The good news is that my four year old is still refusing to succumb. Last evening, I celebrated her stubbornness by engaging in the first CoD action I’ve seen in a couple of weeks. Hopefully her good health will continue.
