Shared on Mon, 03/31/2008 - 08:12I'm afraid the title isn't a lie or exageration, there is more drama to report unfortunately.
My girlfriend's shop is going down the tubes and is going to have to be closed down. The guy who owns the shop has somehow managed to not only run through the 70K business loan the bank gave him at the end of last year, but is now 21K overdrawn as well! God only knows how he managed that one. He is blaming everyone but himself, and has called the manageress, who has worked for him for 2 years now, a 'complete waste of space' and has blamed the entire thing on her, which is complete and utter nonsense.
So, as of the middlle of last week, my girlfriend is out of a job. She's already fired off a couple of applications, and was at a temp agency on Friday (scoring very well on the tests, considering she's not used Word for 2 years now) so we just need to wait and see how it goes. One thing that will go against her is that she wants to keep Fridays free as she goes to the college in Glasgow to continue her Jewellery course.
The stress is starting to take its toll on both of us, we're a little more grumpy than usual, and while we're not really fighting, you can tell that our tempers are both shorter than usual. My sleep isn't quite what it used to be, and I'm suffering from headaches on a regular basis, sometimes once a day, which I struggle to shift even with a handful of Ibupofen, so I'm seeing the doctor next week - after waiting three weeks for the appointment. I'm sorely tempted to just ask him to give me a sick note for a couple of weeks off work with stress.
On the up side, my new guild in World of Warcraft are a really good bunch of people, and I'm finally feeling like I've settled in there - I have my new Warrior to level 64, and I should be hitting level 70 in a few weeks.
