A message to the ignorant U.S. government officials who are chumming up to all the American casino lobbyists: you just pissed off all your constituents.
I'm not sure what the hell American casino operators are scared of. I think most people who gamble, actually enjoy going to brick & mortar casinos vs. playing in some cheesy online application. Why the brick & mortar casino's, and the mega-corporations that own them, haven't jumped in on the online casino boom is *far* beyond me. Why is corporate America's solution to competition: crush them with congress and put together a competitive solution at our own pace? If there weren't legions of lobbyists touting some deep pockets you'd have to wonder if congress would have shrugged this off without a glance. The fact that the new online restrictions are tucked away in a completely unrelated bill is yet another point that they don't want this to be a headline issue in an upcoming election: they know it would piss people off.
Thanks congress. Thanks for making the Internet one more place where you get to dictate my moral values. Land of the free? Hardly.
