Artistically Pissed the Fuck Off!!!

Hi all...I was surprised to learn this about DCE.  The much needed and excellent art program is being done away with due to lack of funding...Do you know this only pertains to DCE and not any other school in CISD.

 

We're the only school without an art program for Kindergarteners and a reduced art program for fist graders.  All because we have a part-time art teacher and the lack of funds.....seems like our tax dollars aren't working to our advantage!  

 

I've been advised to write letters to the school board& Judy Denman . We are the only elementary school in Coppell without a full time art teacher. Tell all your friends to write!

Being artistically inclined myself this lowers my opinion of public schools.  Apparently the kindergarten art program has been eliminated for the remainder of the year and will be under review for next year.  The first grade's exposure to art has been cut down to 45 minutes every other week, instead of weekly.  I am appalled.  If I had the money I would just donate it, but being the "starving artist" that I am, finacially I am bound and gagged..okay not gagged.  I will scream my views in letters to the board.  I suggested that my friend call or write a local radio station.  It just seems unfair.

Any suggestions????
