TORNADO! WHAT TORNADO?

Well living here in Oklahoma, Tornadoes have always facinated and scared me at the same time.  But the warning systems seem to save lives so I am normally fine with bad weather.  Well last night we had some good storms roll in around midnight and after watching the weather on tv the worst had passed, and hail and thunder and lightning would be all my area would get. So I went to sleep.

About an hour later in a full deep sleep I wake up to the local Tornado sirens, now these things never go off to often and if the do mostly just serve a  general warning.  So I turn on the TV and the weather guys basically tell me a Tornado basically was within a mile of my house about 5 mins earlier.

WHAT!  5 mins ago my ass was asleep and NOW the sirens go off so much for the warning.  My oldest son wakes up to the sirens and ask if there is going to be a tornado, I told him that yes but It had already had passed.

So much for the faith I had in the warning system, Shit next time I could wake up to the sirens laying in a mud puddle down the street.

Thats scary! One would hope that you would get a warning BEFORE, not after. Ive never seen a tornado.
