Remember Dragon Warrior?

The Xbox Live Indie Games channel is kind of like a decrepit fountain with an oily slick on top. Because while it may not look pretty, if you dig around inside you're going to find some gems...or in this analogy, shiny quarters.

I don't think I talk about the channel enough, because there are definitely some games inside that I love, and I wanted to mention one of them today on this pseudo-holiday (I call it a pseudo-holiday because the official celebration was yesterday, though a lot of folks get the spillover Monday as a day off)..

Back to the topic at hand, I'd like to talk about the game Breath of Death VII. It's both a parody and an homage to the JRPGs of old, and it only costs $1. It was just reported that the game surpassed 22,000 downloads which is a great number for any game in the Indie Channel, where only rare powerhouses like that famously misspelled Zombie game sell into the six digits.

Long story short, the game is great and worth well more than a single dollar. You can find the official Xbox link right here.
