As some of you know, I recently became the father of my 2nd child and I was fortunate enough to take a few weeks off of work to be home and help out around the house with things. It has been very exciting and interesting and once again has brought back that bond between my wife and I that we had 7 years ago when our first child was born. I dont know where that bond went and Im not saying that we hated each other, but I think that when a child reaches that age where they can speak to you and crying isnt their main source of communicating, we didnt really have to depend on each other so much. Now that Allison is here, we have that renewed teamwork again and it really does make me feel special to have someone like that in my life. Thanks for listening guys!

Does anyone else feel the same way?

I can relate. There was a definite change between my wife and I as our kids were born. In our case it was being hyperfocused on our kids. For our first it was new parent jitters and then we had preemie triplets. For them it was a matter of making sure they would be healthy enough to develop like full term kids. My wife made more than her fair share of 911 calls when they had issues. These days they are all happy and healthy kids. We can breathe a little easier and reconnect with each other beyond being parents.

I only have one little girl right now. It seems like things change quite a bit after your first. Wish you the best of luck and congrats on the new one! :)
