Some good, some rant

Got sent home early from work today.  Nice.  Not enough people getting cancer?  Nah....  We have our up and down periods.  right now we are pretty much at full staff and census is down.  So, the per diem nurse gets sent home.  And, one nurse has already given notice, leaving in about two weeks.  Another two are actively looking and interviewing.  It's a tough place to be, and you need to luv what you do in order to stay there.  Since I am only there three days/week, I don't get involved in the politics and petty gossip.  Oh, don't get me wrong!  I luv the gossip!  But, it goes no farther than me.  That is why I hear "don't tell anybody, but..." so often.  And that is why I hear ALL the gossip and news of the day.  Luv it!

Yes, I know I should be making those tax payments every quarter.  Yes, I actually do know this.  But, I don't like to give the government my money unless I absolutely have to.  Well, we do end up paying every year, for various reasons.  One is, no dependents to write off.  But, there are other things.  Well, we got our "tax penalty" bill today.  WTF?  I thought I paid that!  I pulled out the tax forms and searched, without success, for something that listed the penalty and how much it was.  Well, the IRS figured it for me, including interest.  INTEREST!!!  Will they suck everything out of me?  Ack!  It feels that way.  The truth is, hubby's retirement income has absolutely no taxes taken out of it, and that is really why we get dinged at the end of the year.  That will change!  Already has.  So, I will make those quarterly tax payments, reluctantly, and maybe even get something back at the end of the year, for once!  or not......
