Ok so I saw Tron @the 3D IMAX last fri. and I was blown away. the critics can suck it... I could watch that movie over and over... anyway unexpectedly viewing the movie solved several problems for me. The first is the glow around the outside of the Identity Disc. wile it is activated it gives off a swirling glow Ive experimented with el wire, neon tubes, led's... even the chasing EL... nothing captured the effect that I needed. Well the movie solved the problem for me. wile the disc spins in combat when it is attached to their backs only the inner ring glows, and since the disc is going to be mounted to the 360 this is the look I'm goin to try reproduce. This also sollves a few clearance issues I was running into, namely I need about another half inch of clearance for the neon tubing, this wont be an issue since I'm going to build out the base to hold the disc about 1/2 an inch. I also toyed with the idea of connecting the ROL (Ring of light) to the 4 lights on the disc. right now I have them all wired into the player one slot. that way when the power is off to the console the 4 lights will pulse and glow, but when the 360 turns on they all stay lit. The other option is wiring every light individually to a different player spot, so if 2 people are playing, the top 2 lights on the disc will be lit... how about a poll? which way sounds cooler to you? I also got in my kydex, that i'll be building the fascia out of. after christmas i'll start working on the moulds that i'll use to form the kydex. Hope everyone hase a merry Christmas
