Maybe the Mayans saw this coming in their end of the world prophesies. Those who pray at the temple of bacon could see their world crumbling to bacon bits this winter.

That can't be right...we have so many wild hogs in Texas that we passed a law that allows folks to shoot the beasties from a helicopter. This is a cow/oil/bacon state sir, God Bless Texas!

yes, and hawaii has it even worse. Hogs are incredibly destructive. I see your point.

This pertains to domestically raised cash crops (pork). Due to high grain costs and that due to a shortage of grains, that due to a shortage of water, which you also have.

Hog huntings a blast by the way. Although I've never been privileged to hunt them in a helicopter. Doesn't really sound so fun.

I'd say carrying your kill out would be a lot easier!

But that's a policy implemented to eradicate, or at least cut back the population as they are doing so much damage and there isn't a natural predator in place, no?

We hunted off half tracks and buggies down in the Florida swamp areas. And you always carried a side arm in case something got back up, and they do get back up. Nothing more hard headed than a hog.
