Volvo V8 Supercar ready...

"In Volvo’s case, that means a beefed-up S60 sedan and powered by a 5.0-liter competition version of the same Yamaha-designed V8 that’s under the hoods of all of the XC90 crossovers out in front of your kid’s school in the morning.

In the racecar, the engine pumps 650 hp to the rear wheels through six-speed transaxle and is good for a 0-60 mph sprint of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of over 180 mph."

Curious what the hp/ton is on these vs Nascar Sprint's?

The current Bristol radio advertisement says 900hp, I think that might be high?

I did a bit of looking and math and the results are intresting:

The min weight of a V8SC is 1410KG Including the driver.

The max HP is 650.

Best case scenario = 460BHP per ton

Now the intresting part.

The Minimum weight of a NASCAR Sprint cup car is 1542KG

Max HP is 750BHP

So it comes out as 486BHP Per Ton

Only 20 odd BHP off?

Yeah, bigger difference is the V8SC's have a live rear I believe.
