2 days till the big trip

Here I am on a Sunday, working on getting everything ready for the big trip.  What trip you may ask?  Well the trip to Chicago, for the 2010, and last of the 2old2play Chicago LAN's. I never realized how much work getting ready for a 600 mile road is.  I've made many similar trips, most actually much further than this particular excursion.  Ft. Bridger, WYO (1200 mi.), Seattle, WA (2200 mi).   However, for some unknown reason I always seem to forget about the work that goes into the preperations for such trips.  The packing, the checking to make sure you have everything, making sure the vehicle is good on everything.  Of course, as we all know, come D-Day, we will inevitably forget something.  The question is, "Will that something be important, can it be purchased at the destination or along the way?"   Ahh the joys of a road trip.  Sad part is, I'm looking forward to this.  All the work, the 9 hour drive, and the inevitable forgetting/losing something.  I CAN'T WAIT. 

If you are looking for some point to this blog, there really isn't any.  I'm just amped about this upcoming trip, and have to say/do something.  I've gone through my checklists so many times I'm wearing the paper and pen out.  So here's to this year's Chicago LAN!  May the drunken debauchery, foolshness, and mayhem commence.  For all those I have met, and those I will meet, See ya at the LAN!
