Lunch

I went to lunch with my dad today and in his car on the way back, he had 'Sirius Ez Listening' or something on the radio. Now 'We've Only Just Begun' is going to be stuck in my head all damn day. How is it that I have never actively listened to any EZ listening station in my life, yet I know every single word of every song they play on those stations? I think my ma must have listened to that shit nonstop when I was in the womb.

 

In other news, I have 3 days off and normally would be looking forward to a weekend of gaming action. But the girlfriend's mom is in town and staying with us, so I need to compete for TV time. It seems all she ever wants to watch is Ice Age in spanish, and old mexican black & white movies where the guys all wear sombreros the size of a satellite dish.  I can't imagine she will be thrilled at the prospect of watching me play Deadliest Catch, exciting as the game may be. I foresee mass quantities of alcoholic consumption in the forecast for the weekend!

'Foul-Mouthed' is forever ingrained in my brain thanks to the first R-Rated movie my mom ever allowed me to watch. 'We're more likely to believe an important local businessman than some foul-mouthed jerk from out of town.' 'Foul-mouthed? Fuck you.'

The other news seems to be an impediment to our Guitar Hero 3 online career thing that we considered planning but never actually said we'd do.

Yes I am holding off committing to that until I can figure out when my blocks of TV time are going to be allotted for the weekend.

that muzak crap is EVERYWHERE. it lulls you into not even realizing it's there. next thing you know, you're singing along to the carpenters. it has subliminally seeped into your gray matter and pops up at the worst times. believe me, nothing is worse that having your girlfriend/wife overhear you humming "send in the clowns" during sex!
