Shared on Fri, 10/05/2007 - 13:29In Kyosogi's blog he mentioned DRM and that reminded me of something. Sometimes my brain works that way.
Last night I signed on to ITunes for the first time in a while and had to update it. Now when I try to buy some stuff it tells me I can get the special PLUS version which always ensures the highest-quality recording, etc etc. So I figured I'd try it out and it turns out those are the DRM songs. Well I declined that and went along on my way with the regular tunes. My question is: if the DRM songs are the highest quality, then what the fuck am I buying if I don' t buy the DRM songs? Am I paying .99 for a piece of crap, just because they want to force me to use their new system? It's funny, because in their efforts to force people to not be able to steal music, they are in fact making an honest guy who spends a boatload of money on legal music want to go out and research downloading illegally. Maybe I just don't understand what DRM is but from what I've heard, I want no part of it. The RIAA is a bunch of dickheads and really they should have just chilled out and rolled around in the mountains of money that they are STILL making even after all this bullshit.
Argh...they make it tough to be honest.
