So who is Mike James?

Since I've been semi away for a while, I have noticed that there are a TON of new people on the site.  Something that happens when you're away for a while.  Many of the people have changed, some have gone, some old names are still around, but I look at the blogs and the posts and I see mostly new people.  So, I figured I'd re-introduce myself for those that care or bother to read..........those that know me.........just skip this blog all together.

I'll start with my gaming and how I got to 2o2p.  On father day, about 6 years ago, my wife and I went into gamestop just to look at the games for the gamecube.  It was the perfect system for me and my kid.  I didn't see anything I liked, the kid was acting up a bit and I decided to take her out to the car while my wife bought a game.  I wanted to get home but my wife came out and said, I got a ticket for a drawing, give me 5 minutes till the drawing goes on.  I just tell her "whatever" and listen to the radio.  She comes out 10 minutes later with an xbox.  I roll my eyes at her and tell her bring it back cause we didn't have the money at the time.....as much as I wanted an xbox.  She told me she won it in the drawing and I didn't believe her.  So I take the kid and her back into the store so she could prove it to me.  Well, she won it and I then had an xbox.  Not knowing much about it, I had no idea what games to get for it so I went home and did some research on games and found Halo.  It looked cool, but I didn't know.  So we picked it up the next day and damn, I was addicted.  A short time passed and Halo 2 game out.  I decided to get on xbox live and met Doodirock and his roommate at the time, Ebola.  They were talking about engagement rings and I told Ebola not to do it....and we gamed all night together.  The next day I visited another older gamers site which Doodi and Ebola were a part of.  I joined their 'clan' and we gamed for MANY months together after that.  Well, things happened and Doodi game up with 2old2play and I was right there with him.  At the time I was REALLY active with the site.  Even wrote an article that got published in XBL magazine which was some of the first big influx to the site.

Over the years when H2 was popular, I met MANY really cool people........a LOT of them in person.  Kinda crazy considering this all started from something my wife won at a raffle.  I've watched many of their careers grow, many have children, some get married, some divorced.  Almost like in day to day life, except, it was much easier to meet people with the same interests as me online through 2o2p.  I can honestly say, I do miss the old H2 days. EVERYONE was on it and there was never a night that I would get on and play till 4 or 5am and not get a game invite.  Unfortunately, this has changed over the years and so have my priorities.

I've gotten back into cars.......something I've been interested in since I was a kid, started going to school and about 8 classes from my Bachelors in Business Administration and I've moved a LOT.  I've had my ups and downs here and many have read about them through my blogs over the years.  Those past blogs are gone now, but I'm starting a new chapter.  I'm learning how to manage my time a bit more so I can include everything that I want to enjoy.  Much easier said than done.  But, I am back and back into gaming to some extent.  I hope I get to know more of the newer people on here.  It was great getting to know the site veterans and getting to know the site newbies.  It never hurts to meet new people and have new friends, even if they are only online.

Anyways, that's a quick note about me and my gaming past.  If anyone is on xbl and wants to send me a FR, my gamertag is Mike James.  I'm playing mostly CODBO right now but also play some RB3, Smackdown vs Raw 11 and Halo Reach.  Just let me know you're from the site so I know who you are and don't be shy about sending me a game invite.  If I don't answer right away it's probably cause I'm in the middle of a game.  My leet skillz manage to get me more deaths than kills.....so if you're expecting a pro, that I am not.  Not into the serious gaming as I don't have time to really learn every map in every game.

Hope to catch y'all online!

MJ

I agree. One supercool game that we all can love, play and enjoy together. Mike, I'm always up for a game of RB3. I don't care on what difficulty people play as long as they don't too. If I may say so, your blogs from back then compared to your blogs right now.., you really came into your own. You rock.

I miss the H2 gg clan days too MJ! We were always on, and most nights had to have a couple rooms going. Sadly, I picked up Reach to see if we would all get back together and have some really good clan nights. We had a couple, but everyone has fractured off to new games again, and quite frankly, the Halo series doesn't 'do it' for me as it once did. I do play CODBO from time to time however, so shoot me a FR if you have room on your list!
