Go to your local millwork supplier/doorshop and they can cut you/mill you an oak piece to trim that out that will match your tile trim pieces. Not ideal, but it will be a good solution for almost no work. Have them mill the piece to fit between the threshold and the tile at the same height as the tile so your door can still swing. You can glue it down or finish nail it into the subfloor. Then make sure you run a THIN bead of silicone between it and the tile and it and the threshold. All of this if you can't get them to come and fix it the way they should fix it.

Congrats on a new place! That's very exciting. I have a one bedroom apt as well. You have a lot of options for sleepovers. 1. a convertible sofa (although I couldn't find any cute ones so I just got a regular one), 2. blow up mattresses that you can store away when not in use, 3. as you said sleeping bags With the economy so bad right now I've heard that it's definitely a renters market because it's better for them to lease out at a discount than have the place sitting for months with no rent coming in at all.

he should have used a piece of scluter on that high traffic edge.(metal end cap, goes under tile and helps protect the edge of the tile) at this point I'm not sure what you could do to finish out the gap. check with your local tile shop and see what suggestions they have. It looks good except for that gap, which he probably left to center the tile pattern in the middle of the floor.

We purchased a defective home and have been dealing with a crappy builder, so I feel your pain. It's amazing how some of these contractors try to get away with shoddy work. You did get it fixed, right?

Agreed.That gap must be fixed.Looks like bad planning and measurement.That last tile should have been cut to fit,speaking as a former floor guy's helper and cut man.Please tell me they used Durock or another kind of concrete backer board underneath.It's like sheetrock,but made out of concrete.Did the contractor come from the tile store?Talk to them. It does look high/uneven under the door.Can we see what it looks like a little closer?
