Comic Book Wednesday!!!

Played in the H2 tourney last night, had a good time...wish I would have done a little better, but that is life in the big city.

Big Shout out to my TBAM peeps..(TBAM is our team name, it stands for Twiggs Berries and Melons...We have four guys and one lady on the team...she is the melons...Ha..Ha..)

The Mrs.LB (Teri) is almost done with the school year, today is the last day with the kids and tomorrow is the last school day. She will be moving up to 3rd grade next year and she is looking forward to it...She was teaching kindergarten this year, but next year the schools enrollment is going down, so the principle asked her if she had a choice would she like 3 or K...It honestly did not matter to her, but if she took the 3rd position then she would be getting some extra training (she is going to be getting the "Low" kids) on different techniques for teaching these kids.

If you are unaware or if things are different in your state/school disctrict, this is the dirty little secrect you may not know. In her district and many other districts they way teachers keep there job is mainly on how long the have been at there district (down to the date a time stamp on there application). So if a craptastic teacher has been in the district 20 years, and an awesome teacher has been there for 7 years and the school needs to cut or "excess" (is the term used to let a teacher go) then the 7 year teacher is let go...Now they do not fire the teacher in the disctric...they are given the opportunity to go to a different school that is in need of teachers...if positions are open...if not they will keep the teacher even to the point of having them sub or work in the district office for the term of there yearly contract.

Well this is how Teri got her job at this current school a few years back...she was excessed...even though her kids scores (state mandated tests) were top among all her other grades at her old school (even though she started with the "Low" kids). But she still had to interview at different schools to find the job she wanted. Basically she went looking for a school that she was not "Low man on the totum(sp?) pole" and if the school needed to excess people, she would have a little bit of a cushion.

So now she has to move grades because of enrollement..In the past 10 years Teri has taught, 3rd, K, 1st. Everytime she gets into a grove something happens and she has to change up...She is strong and adapts but guess who gets to be there when it comes time to vent/unleash the rage..Well that may be overstating things, but she can get a little "Moody" when the pressure cooker of life gets a little built up. But that is the job of a man slave...uh husband..and to be honest I would not change a thing...well maybe the moody shit, but hey no one is perfect.

You may ask...why the hell did you just tell us that, well this is part of the reason she has been all up in me the past couple of weeks and we finally talked about it last night after the tourney...actually it was not really talking but "are you still playing" snide comment before the bs attitude she was throwing my way..which led to the "Hey you sound just like your mom when she is throwing a tantrum" comment by me...yeah...need less to say..a discussion ensued later last night...and like all of lifes trials you have to go through, we ended up with a little more "air clearing" that needed to be done..like what the hell do you mean you are doing everything, do I need to remind you of all the other things I have done the past few weeks so you could do this or that..

So I think she now feels better and I sort of feel better...but I will hold judgement until the next time I would like to do something and Teri has to do a few extra things without my help..

Dont misread what I mean or am saying...She bust her ass all the time, and I could probably help out a little more...But I try to help our more than I use to and do make sure before I do something that she does not have something planned or does not have a problem "covering" my feeding shift, so I can do something.
