Refrigerator Escapade

For a couple of days now our refrigerator has been on the blink. It's a GE side by side and it's about 5 years old now. Of course the first thing to go out on it was the damn ice maker about two years ago. It still makes ice but the hole where it needes to come out of on the door likes to freeze up so nice will come out. No big deal for me. I don't mind reaching in and getting frost bit to get some ice but it does piss the wife. Ok, so I do need to fix that. Anyway, the refrigerator hasn't been cooling good lately but the freezer has been keeping everything frozen. Hmm, maybe bad circulation or some type of fan has gone bad. I call a repair man to come take a look and he pulls the back of the inside freezer panel off and the damn coils are frozen up solid. He says yep, your main board is shot. Thata be $367.00 without a flinch. I'm a suspicious guy by nature from being in law enforcement. Also having a background in apartment maintenance when I was young I know my way around appliances and other stuff like that. He wants me to pay for everything up front because he will have to order the part. Of course I laugh in his face. No way sir. I pay for nothing up front especially when no work has been done. I tell him I will at least pay him for his service charge and then when the part comes in he would charge the rest when he calls to setup the appointment to install the part. When I get back at work I go looking onto Sears website and find that the part is only $147.00. So I order the part myself and call that company back and cancel their service ticket with me and when the part gets here I will install the damn thing myself. How's everybody's elses Monday going?

UPDATE:

New part came in and finally got my lazy ass around to replacing it.  It was real easy and took all of 30 minutes that this douchbag wanted to charge me over $200 in labor for.  The fridge is happy, the wife is happy, GOW is in my hands tomorrow and that makes me very happy.
