No matter what Vivendi says, Sierra is probably on their way out the door once Ghostbusters ships. This hurts alot. And at times when a close friend leaves, I reminisce about the good times we had together...and believe me...me and Sierra had A LOT of good times together. WIth that said, I'm going to be highlighting some of my favorite Sierra games each week. Some of these, I have the original Box art for. I am going to see my parents this weekend, so I'll try and secure them, then take pictures for you. Nothing says beauty like original Sierra Box Art.
Anyway, here we go.
I start off with King's Quest 3. You may ask, why not Kings Quest 1 or 2? King's Quest 3 was the one I had the most fun playing. Maybe it was the storyline involving the sorcerer who was keeping you (the player) captive. Maybe it was the countless hours I spent collecting spell components with only a short amount of time before I was forced to return to the house, lest I be killed by my captor. Maybe it was the TYPO IN THE FRICKING GAME MANUAL that prevented me from saying the incantation to a spell that I had to cast to create...I believe it was a sleeping potion. No lie. Several months of my life wasted because I couldn't get that spell cast. Maybe it was the path down the mountain with the blocked view of the curvy path. This prompted me to do a rhythmic motion while walking down it.
Left, Left, Save
Left, Down, Save
Left, Up,...CRAP
Restore
And so it went on.
Kings Quest 3 was without a doubt my favorite King's Quest game. It got my started, after that, I went back and played 1 and 2 that my dad bought. And so on and so forth.
So here's to you Kings Quest 3. You certainly taught me how to type fast, since I had to to get my commands in before the Wizard zapped me.
EDIT: Ok, Char. Here's your VBoy pics. I take great pride in owning each Nintendo Console. (except for the multiple iterations of the GameBoy. I only own one Gameboy, the Nes Edition Gameboy advance SP)
