Shared on Fri, 07/18/2008 - 03:22I walked into The Dark Knight with 0 expectations. Didn't honestly care to see it. But I owed a friend of mine because he went with me to see Iron Man and endure my geek out. So I gathered up friends and went to see Dark Knight. The theatre decided to shut down all other films and premiere it at midnight on all 11 screens. The line for it wrapped around the building.
Thank you Fandango.
When we got in and enjoyed the previews, I began to get slightly excited to see it. I mean...it was Batman after all. Batman Begins was nice. And with this rumored dynamite performance by the late Heath Ledger, I was sure to be entertained.
2 1/2 hours later, entertained isn't the word for it. Spellbound is more like it. I haven't been that legitimately on the edge of my seat in a LONG time. Ledger's performance? Unbelievable. No wonder people are whispering Posthumous Oscar Nod. The visuals are amazing, the story is engaging and well written. It was an unexpected surprise for me.
do yourself a favor and go see it. It is well worth it.
Now, must get some rest, for tomorrow I must go find some new soil for Steve.....He's dying you see.
Yea...should've bought the dern goldfish.
PS: When you do go see it, let's see if you can find out where the Joker's pencil disappears to. You win a prize if you do :)
