Slash plays Belleville?

I posted this in our 2old2jam forum, but I don't think anyone reads it.  I figure it's a good enough story for a blog entry.

For some reason, Slash played in Belleville on Saturday...it was awesome. I was hanging around the theatre in the afternoon and Slash's guitar tech invited me backstage and gave me a personal tour of all Slash's gear etc. I told him I had pre-ordered the Slash's new amp (the AFD100), so he gave me an very in-depth tutorial about how all the new features work, and little things that he and Slash do to get the most out of it. I hung out with him for about 2 hours, and he showed me all of Slash's touring guitars as he was sound-checking them, and his "backup amps", which are the same jubilee's he used on the GNR tours (it still says Guns n Roses on the case).

Long story short, I had a blast, got some cool pictures, and Chet (Slash's tech) is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. He even hooked my wife and I up with backstage passes after the show...but I still managed to find a way to NOT meet Slash.  I was being far to polite and patient.

Sorry for the dumb questions but Slash just plays as "Slash"? No band, or band name? Just Slash like Sting?

@ekattan - he's touring his solo album, which I guess is more of a "Slash and Friends" album, since he doesn't sing. Myles Kennedy (of Alterbridge) is the singer on this tour. They did stuff from GNR, Velvet Revolver, Snakepit, and the new album, plus an Alterbridge song. It was a kick-ass show.
