Well I went and commited to the gym (Shapes) for a full year last night. My trial membership period was almost up, and I decided it is time to go full force into getting into some semblance of good health. This gym is slightly more expensive than my local YMCA, but it is so much bigger. Even when the parking lot is full, there is no problems getting on the equipment. Oh, and being open almost 24/7 is a good bonus too. I'll have to do a 5am workout some day.

Now I need to rag on my brother to sign back up so I don't have to go solo all the time. My sis goes too, but she tends to hang out on the woman's side and not the co-ed side. I need to get the wife interested... I wonder if I can my sis to rag on her to be her workout partner :)

I also started to run around my neighbourhood, damn does that need work. At this time I am really pushing it hard just to make a single kilometer without having to revert to fast walk speed. But, I have already started noticing some endurance progress, even after just a small handful of runs! I think my goal is to one day run a marathon. Probably won't be ready for that for a long time, maybe 2011. I'll definitely have to try a half-marathon first.

Last night was a gym night, I think tonight will be a run. It's sunny out and the path I run on is bone-dry (despite all this crappy white snow on the ground). Plus, my nike avatar just told me he turned into a couch potato, and that his legs could use some exercise, lol!
