Still gets cold in the winter but I have some pretty good leads in the central Oklahoma area. One of which my Mother works for as a personal assistant. Glad to help if this might suit ya.

The Sandhills area in North Carolina is nice. Lots of high dollar construction, and very little crime.

My family and I lived in NC for 3 years, and you simply cannot beat that region for A. the people (the "Southern" sterotype is true - some of the nicest people around) and B. cost of living. Check out a little town called Kernersville, NC. It's situated right in the middle of the Peidmont Triangle (Winston-Salem, High Point, and Greensboro) and is 15 minutes from all those major cities. However, it is still in the surburbs, so you don't have the problems city life brings. B.
