I hit a pregnant woman last night....

nope. No punchline.

I got in a car accident. I imagine a car a dozen ahead,  stopped quick... causing a chain reaction of people that had to stop quickly. As you know, people down the line have less and less time to react. I was able to do a full stop. The guy behind me did not. His commercial van was totalled: radiator smashed right into the engine. I whacked the person in front of me who whacked the person in front of her. And some guy whacked the guy who hit me. Lotsa damage all around. Luckily , since I was able to make a full stop: I'm not liable... but I am shaken up. Everyone (incl the preggo lady) is a-okay. I got to sit in a fire truck, amublance nad then a police cruiser to keep warm over the course of the evening. I learned that there is not a lot of room in the back of police cruisers. Your legs are smushed right up to the pexiglass: I am not that big, and I have NO clue how a big guy is supposed to sit back there.

Anyway: bottom line: I have to deal with insurance. I got a new carseat for Erica (gotta get a new one once they have been in an accident... even if the kid wasn't in the seat) and... my muscles are in a world of hurt today.

Hope your evening was better!

Sounds like those carseat manufacturers sure pulled a fast one on everybody.

Glad no one suffered any major injuries - that would suck especially right before Christmas. Did you know car seats have expiry dates as well? Depending on the manufacture it can be from 5 - 10 years. They have to tossed out - regardless of what condition they are in.

Well glad to hear your alright. How can you prove that you came to a stop and they guy behind you slammed into you and caused you to slam into that person and so on? A similar thing happened to a friend of mine and I forget what the term was but he ended up paying some kind of surcharge for a while.

Thank God all are okay. try warm showers. Walgreens has a Dr. Schools heat and massage cover for your seat or it lays flat for 19.95. I got one for my shoulder after surgery. Well worth the money. Feel better okay??

I have been in a few wrecks. Some minor, some not so minor. Isn't it nuts how you replay them in your head in full surround sound yet you feel like when you tell the story no one fully gets it? You have to had been in it to fully understand the trauma of it all. As far as hitting pregnant ladies goes. I rear ended one once. Totally my fault. I collected myself and ran to check on her. She was fine but what made me really feel bad was she was in a rental because her own car was rear ended the day before. Poor lady was 6 months pregnant and got rear ended 2 days in a row. Feel better soon!

I am glad you are not "at fault". That is the very same accident I was in, and I was found "at fault". I am still angry about it, cuz I was minding my own business stuck in traffic. But, I am glad ur ok. I am only a short time from my own accident, and I still feel the trauma that you are feeling now. Just take things easy for a while. luv u.

Skelaxin is great for muscle relaxation after fender benders.
